Celebrating 57 years of bringing ideas, debate, discussion and literature to Brisbane, the Brisbane Writers Festival will take place from 5 to 8 September in the State Library of Queensland precinct.

The festival will present more than 150 free and ticketed events, with more than 20,000 literary lovers descending onto the State Library of Queensland and QAGOMA site to hear from their favourite authors.

Events taking place over the four days will include:

  • Word Play – an education program for Prep to Grade 12 (3-6 Sept)
  • Love YA – for fans of Young Adult fiction (7 Sept)
  • Angel’s Palace – multi-media venue with performances & installations
  • Meet the author  – book club sessions
  • 20 pages in 20 minutes – manuscript review by a publishing professional
  • Tirra Lirra by the river – installation/ bespoke hub.
  • and much more!
