The Queensland Maritime Museum is a fun and educational experience for the whole family. It features the historic warship Diamantina, the 1925 steam tug Forceful, the heritage listed South Brisbane Dry Dock, and a large collection of exhibits such as Jessica Watson’s yacht Pink Lady.

It’s an interactive experience where visitors are allowed to board the Diamantina ship at her berth in the dry dock. Completed in 1881, the South Brisbane Dry Dock housing the Diamantina and a lightship is the centrepiece of the Museum. Visitors can gain easy access to the dry dock and marvel at its construction and the large warship above them.

Amongst the many varied exhibits, the lighthouses are extremely popular and the Museum has a very special presentation of lighthouse technology.

It’s open daily between 9:30am and 4:30pm, with last admission at 3:30pm. Admission is $17 Adults, $7 Children.

Head to the Queensland Maritime Museum website for more details. It’s located at 412 Stanley St, South Brisbane, just south of South Bank Parklands.
