Brisbane Writers Festival 2019

When: 5 to 8 September, 2019. Where: State Library of Queensland Precinct.  Celebrating 57 years of bringing ideas, debate, discussion and literature to Brisbane, the Brisbane Writers Festival will take place from 5 to 8 September in the State Library of Queensland precinct. The festival will present more than 150 free and ticketed events, with more than 20,000 literary lovers descending onto the State Library of Queensland and QAGOMA site to hear from their favourite authors. Brisbane Festival

Queensland Ballet’s Romeo & Juliet at QPAC

Have you ever heard or said that famous line: ‘Romeo, Romeo where for art thou Romeo?’ Taken from the most famous love story of all time, Sir Kenneth MacMillan presents the Queensland Ballet’s Romeo & Juliet in all its glory at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Lyric Theatre in the West End, Brisbane from 28 August to 7 September 2019. In this ballet rendition of the play by William Shakespeare, Kenneth MacMillan’s adaptation will bring the streets of Verona alive.  The production will engage and delight audiences with a recreation that will include spectacular and colourful costumes, incredibly styled sets and amazing lighting. Kenneth’s choreography will capture the intense romance, passion and tragedy of this play; matched by the skill, elegance and strength of the Queensland Ballet dancers. There are two new great family shows coming up at QPAC. School of Rock and Storm Boy. School of Rock When: From 12 July 2019Where: Lyric Theatre, QPAC Based on the comedy hit movie of the same name, School of Rock Musical is going to rock the Lyric Theatre.
